ON-AIR TREATMENT

An American Olympic high jumper who had placed 6th in the Beijing Olympics was retroactively awarded the Bronze Medal. Her advancement to medal status came about due to the discovery of illegal performance-enhancement drug use by athletes who had placed ahead of her. 

When she finally received her medal, there was no fanfare, no celebration, just a simple letter, a medal and handshake from an Olympic committee representative.

We thought she, along with hundreds of other athletes who had been cheated of their Olympic moments deserved more. We saw an opportunity to make things right and give these athletes their moment in the spotlight.
