Bicycle tires are not cheap. I found this out when I was trying to replace my mountain bike tires with a set of hybrid tires. The plan was to barter with the shop — t-shirt designs for a pair of new tires. Waiting in the shop, I overheard the shop owner repeat a message every time he sold a customer a new bike. That was the moment we knew we were tapping into something special.
